Safety Calculations

From routine equations to advanced computer simulation, we have the ability, training and experience to perform the safety calculations necessary to verify earthing design compliance. Using specialist software such as CDEGS and CymGrid, supported by bespoke routines developed in-house, we are able to assess Touch and Step Voltages which are the key safety related quantities for a high voltage electrical installation.

We can also assess the external environmental impact of an earthing system by calculating earth surface potentials (Hot Zone) and transfer potentials to other nearby earthing systems or equipment.

Of equal importance - we are one of the few companies in the world with the expertise and equipment to measure safety voltages on site to check against calculations.
